We are delighted to be attending this year’s NDA Supply Chain Event tomorrow in Telford. This is the biggest networking event in Europe for nuclear decommissioning, with previous events hosting around 1700 attendees and 300 exhibiting companies. Recently, a group of Altrad colleagues spent a day supporting the work of Growing Well West Cumbria, an incredible Egremont-based charity in England that helps people with moderate to severe mental health issues through growing food, much of which is given to those most in need locally. The charity, open for less than a year, relies heavily on volunteers to fully develop its site. Our ten Altrad volunteers worked hard, building two huge new growing beds, creating a network of woodchip pathways, harvesting 16kg of kale and salad leaves, and transporting compost across the site. 🌱🥬 Everyone walked away from the day knowing that they had made a positive difference to people’s lives. The programme aims to align Altrad's expertise and resources with the students' career aspirations, providing real-world experience and insights to cultivate a pathway to meaningful employment. This programme reflects our long-term vision to foster talent within the Teesside community, helping to empower future generations and create opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach.
