What are the benefits of being a member of the Altrincham & Sale Chamber of Commerce? We asked Sara Fixter - Co-owner of Full Circle, Funerals Your Way - winner of this year's Chamber's 'Business of the Year' Award. "I’ve been a member of the Altrincham & Sale Chamber of Commerce since early 2022. I love how the Chamber creates a really special community where people share experience, knowledge and friendships form. The team and other members were incredibly welcoming from the time that I joined. The regular monthly Breakfast Matters meetings are a relaxed and informal way of meeting. It’s really important in my role as a funeral director that I’m able to fit the meetings in around supporting families; and the Chamber allows me to do this. If I can’t make one particular breakfast meeting, I can join the following month - there is always a new contact to meet as well as familiar, established contacts to catch up with. I was invited early on to speak at one of the breakfast meetings. I gave a presentation on how arranging a funeral, with the right personalised support, can be a positive and empowering experience. Members still mention the talk to me a few years on, and that to me, highlights what the Chamber offers – a chance not only to network but also to find out more about each other’s businesses via talks and presentations. I also like the fact the Chamber offers a varied calendar of events throughout the year. Meetings are held, not only in the morning, but also at lunch time and in the evening at various local venues, providing a different time and format in which to get together and network. The mini-expos are also a definite highlight – allowing local businesses to come together and showcase their knowledge and skills. The Awards held each year are fantastic. We were incredibly honoured to win Business of the Year at the 2024 Awards – the award highlighted what a progressive organisation the Chamber is in shining a spotlight on high quality funeral care and choice and what a difference this can make to people’s wellbeing. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my membership with the Chamber and intend on enjoying it for many more years to come. It has allowed me to create some wonderful friendships, to connect and support other businesses in the area; whilst allowing me the flexibility to support families and prioritise their care. I’d recommend the Chamber to anyone who is considering joining." Sara - you are a valued member of the Chamber and it's lovely to hear about your personal experience - thanks for sharing.
