In my latest post on Fail Smart, I talk about the power of brand building and how we built our brand world. You can check it out here: https://bit.ly/3Yyx0DU But I want to take a moment to shout out the amazing Pan-African designers who have supported our journey. If you’re looking for some cool graphic designers to bring your brand world to life, here are a few we’ve worked with that you can commission: Edina Chewe (a.k.a Wild Logic) (United Kingdom) – She designed our logo and helped put together our brand identity while at the Idea Girl Agency. She is super talented and really captured the dynamism of our platform. Even when we pivoted, it remained true to our vision. Jean-Marie (South Africa) – She designed the second issue of our AMAKA-Zine, the Action Issue. Leveraging AMAKA’s brand identity, she brought it to life in our digital magazine. - https://lnkd.in/dvk5qiCw Sara Biatchinyi (France)– She put together our research paper, Black Women in the United States, and it was fire. She condensed all the data into digestible visuals, with visual aids that complemented the findings. - https://lnkd.in/dVYn_n7U You can also find a list of African and Black graphic designers here if you’re looking for more talent: https://lnkd.in/d8qA7kqx

Totally agree that relying on the usual suspects for distribution just isn’t enough anymore. At AMAKA Studio we’re reshaping the game by offering brands a platform where they don’t just hire writers but can connect with a diverse creative community—from photographers and graphic designers to influencers and content creators. Because our community is so engaged, we don’t just provide creators; we provide readers actively waiting to consume the content you’ve worked so hard on. Brands get a dedicated AMAKA channel that reaches our community of over 70,000, plus creatives can share the content on their own channels, expanding reach even further. This approach feels more authentic and community-driven, and we’re seeing the impact. There’s definitely more out there than just press releases or Taboola!
If you are in pr, marketing or content for your org, what “outside the box options” are there for distribution? Everyone I talk to feels they waited too long to venture beyond press releases and sponsored content. it typically goes like this: 1) Brand hires a journalist as VP Content/EIC/etc (nice) 2) Year 1: focus on content strategy 3) Year 2: realize you now have great content, but no one is reading it... 4) Look for distribution Unfortunately, the options for distributing content haven't changed much the past 10 years. You have taboola/outbrain - but why hire great journalism talent if you're just putting it next to bellyfat and mesothelioma ads? You have press releases - but you're writing the stories, so press releases don't make sense You have nativo/sponsored content options - but again, what's the point of investing in real editorial, just to place a Sponsored label on it? Stacker is (as far as we can tell) the only organization that has launched a new way to distribute content organically, for brands producing real editorial that want new, earned audiences at scale. (and for the next 37 days through end of November we’re offering 20% off a year of our solution that's used by pr/marketing teams at Ramp, Hone Health, GetYourGuide, LegalZoom, Lyft and many more. slide in.) But I want to know what else is out there. What new tools x playbooks are PR’s using to beat the benchmark?

If you’ve ever faced the 30-90 day wait for an invoice to be paid after wrapping up a project, AMAKA Capital was created for you. This initiative empowers creatives with upfront payments, cutting out those long waits. I’m thrilled to have written the script for this launch video (and three others in the series) and to have managed the production from concept to completion. Big thanks to my amazing team lead, Sibahle Alkema, for her support and guidance, and to our CEO, Adaora O, who brought these videos to life with her voice. Shoutout to the Quietly Studio, whose animation magic truly turned this vision into reality. As someone who’s been on the waiting end of the invoicing process in my freelancing days, this project is especially meaningful. Check out this video for more information on how to apply, and if you’re curious about the rest of the series, head over to the AMAKA Community page: https://lnkd.in/dgZ46n-V #AMAKACapital #Animation #CreativeCommunity #ProjectManagement
