Offer accessible interview options Could your interview process be restricting great candidates with disabilities? Providing some flexibility or accessibility options in the interview process could open up your hiring prospects and help you provide a more inclusive workplace. Consider offering remote or virtual interviews and providing accomodations such as assistive technology or wheelchair accessibility. Remember that there are many challenges someone may face in getting to an interview, and be upfront in your job ad about the accomodations you can make. Don’t forget to also consider those with other responsibilities – restrictive interview processes could also create challenges for certain age groups or working parents. In addition to the accessibility options, consider the times you’re offering for job interviews, or if it has to take place in an office, if the role is largely remote. Or if multiple rounds of interviews are going to necessary. Don’t let your interview process put off the best candidates.
