What a whirlwind July has been for us at Animorph! While we typically expect a slight summer slowdown, this month has been anything but quiet. Here are some of the updates:
🌊 Our Catchment: we're thrilled to have shipped a new version with more flood data, a rich content bar and GPS positioning on the map. The app helps users visualise and understand critical information about areas at risk of flooding, making it both informative and engaging. The thematic layers let users dive into the data and stories behind these themes. You can download the app here: https://lnkd.in/e7tXnfer And we're already hard at work on the next stage with The Bourne Stream! Blue Heart is part of the £200m Flood and coastal innovation programmes, managed by the Environment Agency.
🧠 EyeFocus: we’re in the final stage of our stroke rehabilitation project funded by NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research) i4i Connect. Our tablet-based eye-tracking system in EyeFocus has performed on par with industry standard eye tracking hardware. The app is currently being tested with stroke survivors by our partners at University of East Anglia, and we’re excited about early results. 🚀 (not so) New project: We’ve kicked off an exciting new project that we can’t wait to share more about soon!
🤝 Industry and community events: We’ve been quite the social butterflies too, attending a range of industry events, community gatherings and workshops. From giving presentation at the Health Innovation Network Mindset Roadshow event at Guy's Hospital, through showcasing our work at a Stir to Action ABCs Festival in Bristol, to taking part in the data legacy workshop day at East Sussex County Council in Eastbourne and Board Strategy Day at Central Co-op in Lichfield, we’ve been energised by the incredible ideas and collaborations unfolding.
🗺️ Annual General Meeting update: last week, we held our Annual General Meeting where we approved an update to our social value policy. This year, we’ve agreed on new metrics that include unmet needs innovation, accessibility, empowerment, engagement, worker growth, environmental sustainability, scalability, and knowledge sharing. We believe these changes will help us demonstrate our impact in a more compelling way. Look out for our latest social value report before the end of summer!
Animorph co-operative has now been going strong for 8 years, and we’re potentially undergoing our largest and most daring transition yet—a shift towards products. While we wish we could settle into summer, there’s so much happening on our screens and inside XR worlds that we can’t help but stay focused and committed to our mission of enhancing human potential with cutting-edge immersive technology.
