Imagine offshore wind farms becoming the clean fuelling stations of the sea. Apollo’s PALM Charger is making that vision a reality – and it’s currently undergoing trials in Orkney. Supported by £33 million in government funding through the Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition (CMDC4), this project will transform how electric marine vessels operate in offshore wind fields. The PALM Charger will enable vessels to charge directly offshore, expanding their range and supporting the decarbonisation of the offshore wind sector. In partnership with EMEC: European Marine Energy Centre and Leask Marine Ltd, we’re testing its capabilities in real-world conditions, preparing it for the future of sustainable maritime operations.
