The challenge group, formed by a range of experts from across academia, public and private institutions, includes ARCS Principle Investigator, Professor Gavin Bunting who co-chaired the “How Could Wales Feed Itself” working group with sustainable economics expert Sarah Dickens. Did you see us at Green Man Festival? ♻️ We are very proud to have helped Green Man Festival to be fully compliant with the new Welsh Workplace Recycling Regulations and receive glowing feedback from a set of “extremely impressed” auditors! It's been a busy couple of weeks for the team at ARCS and Dan Thomas Engineering developing different bin designs and running a behaviour change study across the festival! The study was testing ways to encourage people to put the right thing in the right bin, in order to reduce the time taken to hand-sort materials back-of-house. This allows the recyclable material to be compressed by Waste Baling Machines before it's transported offsite, significantly decreasing the transport emissions. The team is now back in the office to process the data and we hope to share the insights in the next few months.
