At Aquadapt, we thrive on challenges! Last month we were in the Isle of Wight, transforming an outdated washroom into an easily accessible well-appointed bathroom area that is both functional and stylish. Reconfiguring the whole layout included removing a wall, blocking a doorway and completely replacing a floor! The installation of quality amenities, including a Pressalit Series 3000 Electric Height-Adjustable Shower Bench, a Geberit Wash Dry Toilet, and a Wheelchair-Accessible Basin, elevated the bathroom into a top-level facility for enhanced personal hygiene. Laying Altro Pisces Anti-Slip Vinyl Flooring eliminated any safety concerns, and the installation of full-height glass screens and award-winning shower panels, complemented by Nuance Non-Rot Tongue and Groove Boarding completed a project that will furnish an elegant and highly functional personal care provision for years to come! #aquadapt #ot #casemanager #occupationaltherapists #care #bathrooms #specialcare #project #challenge

Aquadapt showcases a recently completed project for a client in Barwick in Elmet. Brief: A complete redesign, and a comprehensive transformation of our client’s bathroom to accommodate her specific needs including the requirement for freedom of movement, the elimination of any contact with screens, and a practical solution allowing our client to overcome limited hand dexterity and facilitate easy access to personal care products.         Execution: We carried out a complete bathroom renovation, focusing on the creation of a large unobstructed space, allowing our client free movement without risk of collision with impediments. We also installed accessible and easy to use dispensers for soaps and shower gels to address our clients dexterity challenges. The toilet was equipped with a wash and dry function, and adjusted to the optimum height for easy accessibility. The basin we installed was a Pressalit rise and fall, for easy adjustment, and featured integrated hand holes for support.  The work included the need to remove one of bathroom windows, and we filled the space with matching bricks to blend seamlessly with the exterior wall.

Aquadapt recently reconfigured and transformed a bathroom area for a client in Sprotborough. Brief: To reconfigure a bathroom space by the addition of a stud wall between a bedroom and a lounge area, aligned with the existing bathroom wall to give more space and freedom of movement throughout, and create additional space in the existing lounge. To undertake a thoughtfully planned refit of the bathroom itself with the installation of upgraded equipment to provide an enhanced and more practical personal care experience for our client. Execution: We creatively rebuilt a stud wall to facilitate a bathroom reconfiguration and the creation of a new additional area in the existing lounge of just under 2m². The project included installing a wider door (150mm) into the bathroom area, and all associated work to complete an aesthetically pleasing finish overall, with a specific focus on restoring the ceiling in that area. In the bathroom itself, the existing bath was retained, while the installation of a new Geberit Mera wash/dry toilet was positioned to allow for enhanced turning space. Pipework was then re-routed to allow for the fitting of a level entry non slip shower tray in a more practical location, with the addition of a Mira thermostatic shower on a long sliding rail, to enable use when either seated or standing. The supply and fit of a half pedestal basin with lever taps, positioned to the right of the toilet made for augmented accessibility, while a conveniently sized heated towel rail was furnished to the right-hand side of the basin. The installation of attractive 600mm wide half-height double bi-fold doors and a matching half height fixed glass framed screen, running at right angles to the window, provided easy access to the shower, and a stylish mirror cabinet with charging point and light, completed this satisfyingly transformative project. #aquadapt #Geberit #Mira #care #adaptations #occupationaltherapists #casemanagement

An overview of a project Aquadapt recently completed for a client in Leicester. Brief: Our client is a wheelchair user requiring manual aid from parents to access the shower area so there was a requirement for ample space to allow for comfortable manoeuvrability. The room we were working in was originally part of a downstairs reception area. Execution: We completely transformed the area into a spacious, fully functional wet room, complete with a body drier and a space saving glass screen that conveniently folds out from the wall. The extensive modifications included the need to reroute the plumbing to allow for the installation of a Geberit wash-and-dry toilet and a height-adjustable Pressalit basin. We utilized Nuance anti-rot boarding, which comes with a 15-year warranty, for the construction of an internal wall, allowing installation of an extractor fan and new lighting. This tastefully appointed project was made completely watertight with an Altro Pisces tanked floor to ensure durability and safety. #aquadapt #safety #wetroom #occupationaltherapy #casework
