Thank you to everyone who came to the Arca & Beyond: Sustainable Business Futures event on 23rd November 2023. Here is a video we showed during the event: Firstly, Stefano Pascucci, Arca's Principal Investigator (University of Exeter Business School), Mary Hesling (Exeter Innovation, University of Exeter), and Paul Keene (Future Skills Institute, Truro and Penwith, Truro and Penwith College) discuss the importance of building a circular economy in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. "This is about collaboration, and it's about businesses trying to develop together solutions for common problems. This makes me very excited." We then showcase three fantastic businesses that have benefitted from Arca's events, training programmes, and internship schemes in 2022-2023. · Niall Jones – Founder and Product Designer, Benthos Surf · Jane Gray – Founder, Weaver and Designer, Nettle Revolution · Sarah Walker – Sustainability Officer for Origin Coffee The Arca project closes in December 2023, but let's not lose this momentum. Share your knowledge, build networks, and create that ripple effect toward a sustainable future that is good for business, people, and the planet. Community Growing in Cornwall The Impact and Potential of Local Sustainable Food Growing in Cornwall: Following the research report by Sustainable Food Cornwall and Arca Circular's University of Exeter Business School academics for Cornwall Council, in June 2023, we have delved deeper into two highlighted case studies to showcase in film. In this film, we are introduced to Camel CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). Based near Wadebridge, Cornwall CAMEL COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE CIC is a not-for-profit community-run local food enterprise set up in 2009 and the most long-standing CSA in Cornwall. Their main aims are to: • Produce & share healthy, seasonal, local food, • Connect people with the land where their food is grown • Improve food security, increase resilience, and reduce food miles • Mitigate climate change and enhance biodiversity. Further resources, including the written report on the impact and potential of local sustainable food growing in Cornwall, are available on the Sustainable Food Cornwall website: https://lnkd.in/eJzqKTdq The Arca Circular website also hosts a page of free resources: 👉 https://lnkd.in/eFvQzGNi #sustainablefutures #arca #circulareconomy #ark #safespace #tamar #cornwall #devon #sustainabledevelopment #sustainablebusiness #agrifood #foodsystems #casestudy #thegoodfoodloop Steffen Boehm, David Monciardini, Fatma Sabet, Matthew Thomson, Jenny Tunley Price, Francesca Iliffe
