Ariana Resources plc (AIM:AAU) said it is targeting ‘at least’ two million ounces of gold at its Dokwe project in Zimbabwe following a review of the internal exploration data. Currently, the resource is 1.8Moz, but Ariana said the review identified ‘excellent prospects’ to boost this through drilling at the high-grade shoots and Northwest flank at Dokwe North and in open areas to the west of the Dokwe Central deposit. Kerim Sener, Ariana’s managing director, commented: “Based on our current assessments, we are targeting potential enhancement of the resource to at least 2Moz of gold. "At Dokwe North several high-grade zones are noted, which display good strike continuity through the deposit, trending northeast-southwest and plunging at a moderate angle to the southwest. Ariana Resources plc - Interim Results announced. https://lnkd.in/e3hcqQaa “Our acquisition of the Dokwe gold project occurred when the commodities market was outperforming the gold-equities market by a substantial amount, and which was concluded during a valuation trough. “We stand to do exceptionally well in the coming months and years as gold continues to strengthen, and we expect the gold equities market to respond accordingly. “Our 23.5% interest in Zenit Madencilik in Türkiye remains an operational cornerstone, with the Kiziltepe Mine continuing to perform exceptionally well despite its age and the upcoming Tavsan Mine, which will progressively replace gold production as Kiziltepe is wound down over the coming years.”
