With changes to National Minimum Wage, employers' National Insurance and business rates, it is inevitable that some businesses will face difficult financial challenges resulting in a build-up of creditor arrears, including liabilities due to HMRC such as VAT or PAYE. For some businesses, a formal Time to Pay Arrangement (TTP) with HMRC may afford them some valuable breathing space and enable them to get back on an even keel by rescheduling these debts over a period of time. In the article below, Lindsey Cooper, Restructuring and Insolvency Partner, looks at what exactly a TTP Arrangement is, how they work and the advantages of putting one in place. However, directors must be honest and realistic when seeking a TTP from HMRC so these arrangements are not to be entered into lightly. If you’d like any further advice or information, contact our Restructuring and Insolvency team who can assist you with your TTP proposal.
A well thought out and affordable Time to Pay Arrangement with HMRC may give your business the vital breathing space it needs - please see our article for more information @Armstrongwatson

We have seen political unrest between parties, national and international contention, US election fraud claims, the attempted assassination and subsequent re-election of Donald Trump, and now we face the real possibility of UK tariffs imposed by the new President. While this may be interesting reading, you might wonder what effect politics might have on your investments. Here Emma Copley, Chartered Financial Planner, looks at 3 ways markets may react to political uncertainty. https://lnkd.in/evGsHuN7
