    Meet the panel for our New Horizons event on the 16th October! Up next on our panel, we have Chris Baldwin. Chris Baldwin is a passionate musician, teacher, and arts advocate, whose life is guided by creativity, purpose, and a commitment to community. In the classroom, he nurtures not only intellectual talent but also a deeper understanding of the power of creativity, discipline, and critical thinking, encouraging his students to approach life with curiosity. Chris’ dedication to service is rooted in his belief in stewardship, collective unity, and contributing towards a greater good for all. He is actively involved in many charities and community projects, supporting a variety of causes and fostering a spirit of compassion. With a strong sense of integrity and a reflective approach to life, Chris Baldwin embodies the values of creativity, intelligence, and service, whilst using art and action to inspire and uplift others.     We’re delighted to share that Arts Derbyshire, in collaboration with our friends at Local Glossop, recently secured a tender for Derbyshire Makes, a transformational arts programme. This project will bring dynamic cultural events across six hubs in Derbyshire, creating a stronger and more connected arts sector. We're proud to partner with leading cultural organisations across the region: People Express, Make/Shift, CROMFORD MILLS (The Arkwright Society) and High Peak Community Arts. Backed by a £780,000 Place Partnership award from Arts Council England and secured by Derbyshire County Council, Derbyshire Makes will celebrate local talent, drive community engagement and boost the local economy through vibrant workshops, performances and festivals.     Meet the panel for our New Horizons event on the 16th October! Up next on our panel, joining alongside Chris Beech; we have Jo Maker! Jo Maker is currently Arts & Creativity Manager for the National Forest Company, working across 200 sq miles of the Midlands to develop impactful collaborative projects that creatively connect people to the National Forest. Jo works across disciplines and sectors, connecting different practices and ways of working. She is interested in local histories, communities and ecologies and the role that culture can play in shaping regenerative futures. Jo has a BA(Hons) in Fine Art from Nottingham Trent University and is an alumni of Julie’s Bicycle’s Creative Climate Leadership programme as part of the UK 2023 cohort. It is great to have a person joining us on the panel who is so knowledgeable when it comes to the role of cultural placemaking, so make sure to come along on the 16th o hear what Jo has to say!
