As part of our International Women’s Day #IWD celebrations at ASK Partners, last night the Private Client team, Belinda Inocco (Davie), Eve Freeder and Julia Stevens hosted a fantastic cheese and wine evening at La Fromagerie in Marylebone. Following our award win for small-ticket lender, ASK's CEO Daniel Austin spoke to Real Estate Capital Europe about the company's adaptability, and choosing to focus on smaller ticket loans in 2024. Daniel commented: "2024 was a tough year for lending, predominantly because of the rigidity of the rate cycle. Our strategy to focus on smaller loans meant we could fund entirely with our own capital rather than having to secure back leverage and create a more complex capital stack. The beginning of 2025 is looking much better for mid-market loans but being able to react to changes in market conditions remains key for us, given the volatility we are continuing to face." ASK is delighted to announce the completion of a £25m senior loan to Avanton, secured against a 56,840 sq. ft. retail warehouse, formerly occupied by Homebase and Pets at Home, which has planning consent for 453 residential units.
