Delighted to be at the roundtable event with the Fair Banking for All campaign and the APPG on Fair Banking. We’re proud to be part of the #FairBankingForAll Campaign, asking for the government to introduce a Fair Banking Act as part of a national financial inclusion strategy. Today we’re on the way to Parliament to hear how a Fair Banking Act would massively boost the credit union sector, allowing people across the country who are currently excluded to access affordable credit and support. #FinancialExclusion #FairBankingForAll

ABCUL welcomes the progression towards regulating the Buy-Now Pay-Later market by the Economic Secretary to the Treasury Tulip Siddiq . Credit unions closely support their members with their financial resilience and wellbeing. As a result, they have seen the harm caused to many individuals from overuse of BNPL products, and the growing need for appropriate regulation of this market. https://lnkd.in/exqh2SFu
New buy now pay later protections set to come into force from 2026

The Unsung Hero Awards recognise individuals who have made vital commitment to the credit union sector. The awards offer a platform to share inspiring stories and recognize the tireless efforts of those who often go unnoticed. It is always inspiring to hear how credit union staff and volunteers are constantly going above and beyond for their members and communities. Thank you to all the nominees, it was a pleasure reading about all the fantastic work that you do in your credit unions.
🌟 Congratulations to Lisa Warburton of Unify Credit Union Ltd - #UnsungHeroAward Winner 2024! 🌟 READ MORE 👇 Today on #InternationalCreditUnionDay ✨🌍 we are honoured to announce Lisa Warburton as this year's winner of the Staff Member of the Year category. 💬 "Lisa provides strong and consistent leadership to Unify Credit Union, ensuring members needs are always placed front and centre while building a positive culture within the team. “It would be no exaggeration to say that without Lisa's hard work and commitment Unify would not be in the strong position it finds itself today,” says Owen Roberts, CEO of Unify Credit Union, who nominated Lisa. On behalf of the Engage team I would like say a huge thank you to all who took the time to nominate members of staff or volunteers, and to everyone who has supported our efforts to raise awareness of Credit Unions and the people who run them,” says Geoff Leech. 🤝 A gift voucher is winging its way to Lisa to celebrate her incredible contributions. 🎁 And watch this space….Volunteer of the Year to be announced soon! 🏆🙌 #UnsungHeroAward #CommunityImpact #FinancialWellbeing
