Third Sector reports on our research findings that while only 18% of foundations are already using AI, a further 40% are exploring its possibilities. The article highlights that foundations are “likely to proceed cautiously and responsibly when […] embedding AI into their funding practices or other areas of their work”. Those who do not plan to use AI at all are mostly smaller foundations, but as ACF's head of practice Jim Cooke notes: “It may be that as tools become better established and offer more ‘tried and tested’ productivity gains, smaller foundations will increasingly follow their larger peers in seeking these benefits.” #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #Foundations

Today marks the beginning of #TrusteesWeek, a dedicated time to celebrate the amazing contribution made by nearly one million trustees across the UK to charities and other NFPs, and recognise the difference they make. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our own trustees for their invaluable time and commitment, and the superb effort they bring to support ACF. Find out more about them here: https://lnkd.in/eS-zqGM2 We would also like to welcome some recently appointed trustees at our members, including at the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust, NHS Charities Together 💙 and Power to Change. ACF joins NCVO to share our support in campaigning for vital support for charities and communities.
Our estimates show planned increases to employer national insurance contributions will cost the charity sector £1.4bn a year. Many charities will be forced to make difficult decisions to shoulder this heavy burden. Together with ACEVO we’re calling on HM Treasury to take urgent action. Add your voice by co-signing the letter today. 🖊 https://lnkd.in/exqrim58

Please share your feedback on the draft principles to help ensure the Covenant is robust and benefits from the insights of the entire sector. Earlier this year, we worked with our members and ACEVO to develop a #VoluntarySectorManifesto, calling for a new framework to reset the relationship between our sector and government. We’re now working closely with the government (Department for Culture, Media and Sport) and ACEVO to bring this vision to life through the #CivilSocietyCovenant. We want to hear your thoughts on the Covenant and the draft principles – whether you’ve had a positive or negative experience of engaging with local or national government. Share your views: https://lnkd.in/ewkHkMYv
