This October, we celebrate Black History Month by emphasizing the importance of correcting historical inaccuracies and highlighting untold success stories. This year, Black History Month is about reclaiming control of Black stories and honoring the complexity and richness of Black heritage. As we reflect on the achievements of Black people, we must also recognize the need to challenge and dismantle the historical narratives that have marginalized their contributions. By amplifying their voices and celebrating their impact, we honor the full spectrum of their leadership and pave the way for future generations to thrive.
