We will finish the week where we began, with Bugatti. Not long after introducing its Bolide hypercar in a special ‘Équipe Pur Sang’ design, the French brand has now applied the same concept to the Tourbillon. This new 'Équipe Pur Sang' package comes with a tailored front splitter and a custom rear wing that has small endplates for improved aerodynamics. It also boasts a specially designed 8-pipe exhaust system within a unique rear diffuser, along with custom rims that are said to enhance airflow... #cardesign #automotivedesign #transportationdesign #bugatti #luxury

The Opel Genève concept car, introduced in 1975, was originally conceived as a design study called the "GT-W" in 1972. The sleek, mid-engine two-seater was designed to use a two-rotor rotary ‘Wankel’ engine, which inspired its name. However, the oil crisis caused the rotary engine project to be abandoned in 1974. Nonetheless, the GT-W was transformed and rebranded as Genève, in line with the location of its launch... #cardesign #automotivedesign #transportationdesign #conceptcar #opel

The 1975 Opel Genève concept car boasted a sleek and aerodynamic design, and was originally showcased in a distinctive golden colour. The bright orange paintwork, featured in the images we shared yesterday, was added later in 1977 after the car spent a few years in the Opel design department... #cardesign #automotivedesign #transportationdesign #conceptcar #opel

Exactly half a century ago, Opel launched the Genève concept car. The design study, featuring a fibreglass body, was first shown to the public at the 1975 Geneva Motor Show, but it never went into mass production. It was among several concept vehicles developed at the Opel Design Center in Rüsselsheim, which began operations in 1964 as the first car design centre of its kind in Europe... #cardesign #automotivedesign #transportationdesign #conceptcar #opel

Bugatti has revealed its Bolide hyper sports car in a special ‘Équipe Pur Sang’ livery design. The name Équipe Pur Sang, meaning ‘Thoroughbred Team’ in French, is meant to evoke the spirit of the firm's race-winning machines of yesteryear. The car was joined by four other Bolides at a customer drive event held at the famous Circuit Paul Ricard race track... #cardesign #automotivedesign #liverydesign #bugatti #luxury

Another one of our favourites from Toyota's Kenshiki conference in Brussels last week – the latest iteration of the GR Dakar Hilux Evo. The Japanese firm bagged a remarkable one-two finish in this year's Dakar Rally, which took place last month in Saudia Arabia... #cardesign #liverydesign #toyota #toyotahilux #dakarrally

A highlight for us at Toyota's Kenshiki conference in Brussels this past week was the appearance of a ’90s rally-spec Celica GT-Four (ST185) in Toyota Gazoo Racing livery. The second-gen Celica All-Four triumphed in the WRC drivers championship in 1992, 1993, and 1994, and its 1993 win also earned Toyota the sought-after manufacturer’s title. The vehicle showcased in Belgium is now being raced in the FIA European Historic Rally Championship (EHRC) by ex-WRC driver Jari-Matti Latvala... #cardesign #liverydesign #toyota #rallycar #motorsport

Toyota also announced a revamped bZ4X this past week. The SUV has been updated both inside and out, with its exterior design claimed to have better aerodynamics than the last model, which was launched in 2022. In addition to showcasing the FT-Me micromobility concept, Toyota this past week revealed a new all-electric model called the "C-HR+".
