Yesterday marked the end of two incredible days at the ICESCO Ministerial Conference in Oman, where we were thrilled to announce the launch of our ClassVR pilot programme. The conference provided a fantastic platform to discuss the future of education, and we were honoured to take part in the ICESCO panel, contributing our views on the impact of AI and digital tools in transforming education systems worldwide. Our pilot programme, starting with four member states, aims to equip schools with the tools and training to integrate VR/AR into their classrooms, advancing educational equity, engagement, and social-emotional development. It’s been an exciting first day at the ICESCO Ministerial Conference in Oman, where we announced the launch of a new ClassVR pilot programme for member states! Working initially with four member states, the pilot will equip schools with the skills and insights to integrate VR/AR into lessons and explore how VR/AR can increase equity of education access, improve student engagement, and support social and emotional learning. The pilot will support countries with implementing ClassVR, including student training, teacher professional development, and ongoing impact analysis to deliver a final evaluation for ICESCO. The pilot aims to evaluate the educational impact of immersive technology, provide actionable insights on best practice, and deliver a blueprint to inform future education improvement strategies.
