Comparison of Single Aisle Jet OEMs Since 2021 AviationValues has tracked 3,248 deliveries of single-aisle jets across the Airbus A220 and A320neo families, the Boeing 737 MAX family, COMAC’s ARJ21 and C919, and Embraer’s EJets family. We’ve analysed each OEM’s deliveries between 2021 and year to date 2024, measuring the time lag between each aircraft’s initial first flight and its subsequent delivery. The results are presented in the graph below. Broadly speaking, an aircraft delivery occurring within 30 days of its first flight appears to be the norm across the manufacturers when looking at deliveries since 2021. By that metric, Airbus (including Airbus Canada) and Embraer appear to be managing quite well. Read the full piece by Gary Crichlow and Paul Saupe here: https://lnkd.in/eyiUUsV2

Our Head of Commercial Analysts, Gary Crichlow, and Data Analyst, Paul Saupe, share AviationValues’ data insights in the first of a two part series on the health of aircraft manufacturers’ production systems. Aircraft OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) have been getting a lot of press lately as they struggle to meet demand that has strongly outpaced supply. One in particular has been in the spotlight: everyone knows that Boeing faces significant challenges that go well past the general supply chain constraints that all of its competitors are currently facing. Insight into Aircraft Value Movements Our AviationValues Matrix provides a snapshot insight into recent aircraft value movements and market sentiments. Using our Automated Valuation Model (AVM), values of selected airframes and their relative changes are calculated and reflected in the below matrices. The % difference in value is determined by comparing airframe values by the same date of each month. Supporting comments written by our Head of Commercial Analysts, Gary Crichlow. If you would like a specific date range or airframe type or to chat with us, contact the Press team (press@avationvalues.com) Widebodies Widebody Market Values broadly reflect a trend of demand outpacing supply, with most types reflecting stability or material rises in values. Recent observed trades of A350-900s appear to indicate modest cooling of older vintages. View the full matrix here: https://lnkd.in/eu53CGzU

The rise in Market Values of older generation narrowbodies, powered by mature engine technology, has been particularly evident.

Gary Crichlow, using AviationValues data provides insights and updates on the Boeing 737 MAX. 737 Historical Production Rates AviationValues tracks every commercial aircraft worldwide, from its first flight onwards. By looking at every Boeing 737’s first flight information (both Next Generation and MAX families), we can build a picture of 737 production over the past 10 years. There are some limitations in terms of including aircraft that may have rolled off the assembly line but not actually flown. With that caveat, the overall picture of our analysis shows good alignment with production comments made by the manufacturer during investor presentations and earnings calls over that period. Gary Crichlow from AviationValues and Tjaša Pele from Spire Aviation have collaborated and combined extensive datasets to provide an in-depth analysis of the global aviation recovery. Looking at values, fleet developments, flight trends, and global activity distributions. "Preeminent by a significant margin amongst the main narrowbody fleet types in service today are the B738 (737-800) and A320 (A320ceo), which together comprise 59% by aircraft count. Both these airframe types have had very long production runs, but have recently been superseded on the assembly line by the B38M (737 MAX 8) and A21N (A321neo) respectively. Consequently, their aggregate share of the fleet by Market Value is now at just under 40%, although the B738 retains the leading spot across the leading narrowbody models." Using our Activity data we analyse how British Airways uses its fleet and which of its narrowbody aircraft are the workhorses. The below illustrates that the A320ceo has been the driving force over the last 5 years, by performing over 40% of BA’s flights year on year. We expect this will change in the coming years as more of the new generation aircraft are delivered and put into service. Read the full case study by Paul Saupe here: https://lnkd.in/eYkD5f7W

"Using the British Airways fleet accumulated flight hours and cycles between 2019 and 2024 YTD, we look at the flight hours to cycles ratio of the BA narrowbody fleet. The below highlights how the different airframe types have performed year after year." Read the full case study by Paul Saupe here: https://lnkd.in/eYkD5f7W

Using our daily updated database we've created an overview of the Japanese Wide & Narrowbody fleet. Using the Top 10 Operators (by Market Value and Fleet Count). Below shows fleet status and OEM breakdown. Less than 10% aircraft on ground across the top 10 suggests recovery is in full flow for Japan. A heavy Boeing fleet at 75%, although dictation from ANA orderbook suggests a reasonably balanced Airbus v Boeing split. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/eB7pfuCW
