Today is World Parkinson’s Day, held annually to shine a light on the daily lives of people with Parkinson's and their loved ones. Parkinson's is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world, and currently there is no cure. In the UK, around 153,000 people are already living with Parkinson’s and it’s estimated that 1 in 37 people alive today in the UK will be diagnosed with Parkinson's in their lifetime. There are more than 40 symptoms of Parkinson’s but it affects everyone differently. These can include involuntary shaking of particular parts of the body (tremors), slow movement and stiff and inflexible muscles. Research is ongoing but it is thought that medical cannabis can relieve some of these symptoms. The actor, Michael J. Fox, went public with his diagnosis 26 years ago aged just 30, and has long campaigned for the elimination of barriers to cannabis being treated as any other drugs being researched for possible medical uses.   The results of a survey conducted by his Foundation into people with Parkinson’s using cannabis to treat their condition make for interesting reading. #medicalcannabis #CBD #parkinsons #manufacturing
