The Unified Patent Court (UPC) has been in operation for one year on 1st June 2024 and has proved to be very successful. Our Attorneys are representatives at the UPC and our Senior Managing Attorney, Joeeta Murphy joined the one year anniversary celebrations organised by The Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) in London with colleagues from the UK profession. Avidity IP’s Senior Managing Attorney and Director, Joeeta Murphy, was invited to join the panel of UK Judges as the Life Sciences expert at a first ever UK event of this kind organised by The Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys earlier this week. This was a fantastic opportunity for Patent Attorneys and UK Judges from the Court of Appeal, High Court and IPEC to get together and meet like-minded practitioners and experts across the intellectual property sector.   The topic of discussion for this meeting was ‘drafting and litigation – myth, legend and reality’. Some very interesting insights were shared, and it was fantastic to discuss what are certainly hot topics in the intellectual property world right now.
