We’re all about building relationships at AWEBB and events like these remind us just how strong our connected community is. Check out the AGM highlights in the video below! About us
AWEBB is an independent negotiation body providing members with unrivalled security and confidence that they are part of a cohesive team that is working toward a common goal with shared challenges. With fast approaching 300 branches across the UK and Ireland with many original members being part of our group for over 40 years we are proud of our heritage. A primary function of any buying group is to use its collective strength as a tool to negotiate the best possible deal for its members. This usually revolves around price. However, at AWEBB we believe it goes much further than this. The close relationships we value with our partners also ensures that AWEBB members remain at the forefront of new and emerging technologies, enabling the members to be quick off the mark when new products are brought to market.

We’ve had some very positive feedback from our recent state of the art Aico factory tour in Shannon, Ireland, where they manufacture cutting edge smoke and CO alarms. The trip was organised by Barry Hall, our Learning and Development Manager, as part of the AWEBB LEAD Academy - powered by Aico and included expert Guest Speaker Peter Hill, Owner of Mark Holt & Co Limited/Healium LLP Kieran Johnson, Digital and Marketing Director of LEW Electrical Distributors commented: “Once again, another fantastic trip organised by yourself, Barry, as part of this leadership & succession programme. The training course was also top notch, Peter, and really built on previous presentations we've seen from you as well. Really great to have this group, and I think there's major benefits to come from these sessions by having this group of people get together and build relationships! And all great company as well.” The next LEAD Management Development Programme, powered by Aico, will start in December 2024 and focuses on strategic leadership, equipping you with the framework you need to align your team’s efforts with your business goals. Huge congratulations to Jamie Scott from Electrical Lighting Supplies Ltd and David Boyle from G&R Electrical and Security Wholesalers for successfully conquering Mount Kilimanjaro! Climbing 5,895 metres is no easy task, but you’ve shown incredible determination and strength to reach the summit. Even more importantly, you’ve raised vital funds (smashing your target!) for The Electrical Industries Charity, who are passionate about helping people in our industry and rely solely on fundraising. Your achievement is truly inspiring. Incredible stuff Jamie and David, you’ve made a real difference with this herculean climb, you’re what this industry is all about! I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Aico, the sponsor of the AWEBB LEAD Academy, for their steadfast support throughout our learning journey. When we launched AWEBB LEAD nearly four years ago, we began with a blank slate, aiming to create a comprehensive training structure that would nurture and develop talent across our businesses. Today, it’s inspiring to see how far the AWEBB LEAD Academy has come, growing stronger each year and culminating in specialised leadership training that creates a lasting legacy for our group, our suppliers, and, most importantly, our members. Aico has been instrumental in this journey, standing by us as the unwavering sponsor of our programme. They share the same core values that drive AWEBB LEAD Academy: *Trust*, *Passion* and *Knowledge Sharing*. These values have not only supported our Academy but have perfectly aligned with our mission of empowering people to reach their fullest potential. I would like to acknowledge Neal Hooper and the entire Aico team, whose support has extended beyond the practical to a deep philosophical commitment to what makes a business truly excel: being the best we can be by nurturing and investing in our people. Thank you Aico for your invaluable partnership and shared vision - Barry Hall, Learning and Development Manager at AWEBB #AWEBB #Aico #ElectraCentre
