    🌞 Thriving Humans: Cultivating Mental Health and Workplace Wellbeing🌞 As leaders, it's crucial to recognise the widespread impact of mental health challenges on our people. A McKinsey & Company survey across 15 countries found that around 60% of employees have experienced at least one mental health challenge, a statistic consistent with other global research. Addressing mental health head-on is essential. Investing in employee wellbeing not only benefits our people but also boosts productivity, reduces absenteeism, and enhances job satisfaction. In fact, mental health conditions like depression and anxiety cost the global economy an estimated $1 trillion annually in lost productivity (Mental Health UK). Creating a supportive workplace culture that promotes physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing is key. Together, we can drive positive and productive environments where everyone thrives.     ❓How is your organisation dealing with safety in the workplace?❓ We should all be able to go to work and feel both physically and mentally safe, right? But, many employers are unaware that workplace safety encompasses both employees' physical AND emotional wellbeing. 💪🧠 A survey by Traliant of over 1,000 Americans found 86% of respondents either strongly or somewhat agreed that employers need to do more to address mental health needs in the workplace. The main reasons for poor mental health were: ☢️ Toxic management practices – 24% 😟 Burnout – 19% 💸 And wage stagnation – 16% When our wellbeing suffers, we struggle to bring our best and most authentic selves to work, heaping more stress and anxiety on our shoulders. So what should organisations be doing to combat this? 🤔 Traliant’s Michael Johnson believes employers should be implementing psychological safety training so that employees understand what a safe workplace looks like and what steps to take should they experience a poor mental health situation, either within themselves or a colleague. ✔️ People should have access to mental health support resources, such as counselling and mental health assessment tools and apps. If organisations getting these strategies in place now, it’ll not only help their current teams better manage stress and day-to-day activities, but also attract new talent and be seen as an organisation that prioritises mental health.
