It was either pure genius or complete madness to host a BAR UK General Meeting on my last day this Friday! But also looking forward to seeing a few friendly faces at drinks later today (Wednesday) at The Sanctuary House @ 33 Tothill St from 6pm - do pop in if you can.

From aviation to cars. After 12 amazing years as Chief Executive at BAR UK LTD the opportunity has arisen for me to champion another great love. Announcing today that from October I will join the HCVA: Historic and Classic Vehicles Alliance as Chief Executive. It will be emotional leaving an incredible industry that I have been proud to have been a part of since 1987 and start-up of Ansett New Zealand. But I’ve had a love of cars, particularly pre 1970 creations, for even longer. What has kept me in aviation and travel so long? The people! I’ll never forget the talented and aspirational community of people I have had the pleasure to work with over the years and the relationships that endure. I know there is an equally amazing community of people that I’m ready to meet in my new role, and I thank the HCVA Board for their trust in me to become an ambassador for the great historical legacy of vehicles in the UK – with some issues similar and others rather different to aviation. Thank you to all those who have supported me and I’m sure a few classic car enthusiasts will come out of the woodwork amongst my aviation contacts.
