💡This week - with a group of employers👫 👫- I discussed the importance of understanding the motivations 🧐 of Gen Z. They are our next generation of leaders after all 🦸♀️ Great to hear research findings from Adam Moore at Bright Network - thank you for the insights Adam! A few points I took away: 🎯 Purpose : this gen is more aware of their values and want to do work that aligns. Less talk about work/life balance but more about doing work that has impact, is fulfilling and is an extension of them as individuals. There are ways to show how your organisation ties in 🌟 Side hustles: this entrepreneurial group may well have set up a small business, a network, a social media group that they are passionate about. This is an opportunity but also needs managing 😇 Be honest: future recruits see through the “washing” be it green, pink or any other colour. Scepticism is high. Be upfront. 🌟 Reflecting on an Inspiring Week at the 62nd AIJA Annual Congress in Madrid! 🌟 I had the incredible opportunity to attend the 62nd Annual Congress of the AIJA - International Association of Young Lawyers in Madrid from September 3-7, 2024. This year’s theme, “Thinking Globally – The Role of International Lawyers in a World Searching for Answers,” couldn’t have been more relevant or thought-provoking. Throughout the week, I engaged in dynamic discussions and insightful sessions that explored the critical role of international lawyers in addressing global challenges. From trade and technology to energy transition and security, the topics covered were both diverse and impactful. Highlights of the Congress included: 📚 Engaging Academic Sessions: Delving into the latest legal trends and innovations. 👋 Networking Opportunities: Connecting with brilliant legal minds from around the world. 💃 Social Events: Experiencing the vibrant culture and hospitality of Madrid. And Finally, our BARBRI Taster sessions highlighting the newly launched Business Development #LegalLifeSkills courses from BARBRI & BARBRI SQE Prep.
