Members of our Private Bank team were in Riyadh last week for the 8th edition of the Future Investment Initiative – an annual flagship conference for investors worldwide. They attended thought-provoking presentations and discussions, and met with clients in the country. Our Group CEO, CS Venkatakrishnan also attended the conference, participating in a roundtable discussion entitled “Will the global economy achieve a soft landing?” It was an important week for us in Saudi Arabia, demonstrating our commitment to the Middle East region. We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Mathias Gonzalez as Head of Investments, Private Bank and Wealth Management, Switzerland and Dubai. Based in Geneva and bringing over 20 years’ experience with ultra-high net worth clients, Mathias joins us from Pictet where he held a variety of senior roles. His most recent role was as a Senior Private Banker for the Middle East region. Prior to this, Mathias built and led teams of investment specialists. We're excited to have Mathias join us. Today, we published our Q3 2024 #BarclaysResults "We continue to be focused on the disciplined execution of our three-year plan. I am encouraged by our progress three quarters in, and we are on track in delivering the financial targets for the Group and each of our five divisions. We are also making progress on the strategic actions we set out in February, including our acqusition of Tesco Bank which is on course to complete on 1 November and will form part of our commitment to invest in the UK."
