Pressing Pause for Mental Health⏯ Some of our team will be joining #PressPause2024 in support of Safe In Our World this month. If you want to help Toby Pearce, Jasper Pickering, Emily Dixon, and Paul Dhillon reach their goal be sure to check out the post below 🙌 #safeinourworld #videogames #gamesindustry #charity
On the 24th of October, Freddie Saunders, Emily Dixon, Jasper Pickering, Paul Dhillon, and I will be playing Dungeons & Dragons as part of Safe In Our World's Press Pause campaign! Safe In Our World focuses on raising mental health awareness within the gaming industry. Their goal is to eliminate the stigma around mental health and promote open dialogue, so no one feels afraid to ask for help when they need it. So why D&D? Because sometimes all you need is to sit down and talk with friends. In our case, we’ll be talking about magic and adventures, but the message remains: communication is key 💛 Plus, as a fun bonus, anyone who donates will be turned into an NPC for the party to interact with! While I can't promise what will happen to your character, you’ll be part of our story! The campaign link is below, and I’ll be sure to share more updates as the game approaches. Every donation helps support the amazing work of Safe In Our World, especially given the tough times the games industry has faced recently. https://lnkd.in/e6MpqR2E Thanks for your support! #safeinourworld #gamesindustry #charity #pr #gaming

With the news that from next month all games published on Steam in Germany will be required to have a German age rating, is it time for Valve to move more into the tent with the rest of the industry? Valve have mostly followed their own path on age ratings and player safety. And more often than not, have remained outside the tent when the wider industry is faced with regulatory or reputational scrutiny. Is the new German regulation a sign that other countries are going to wake up to Steam’s absence? As there is more expectation on the industry to take a responsible approach to online and player safety, having Valve join the debate would certainly help shape solutions and avoid reputational risk that can impact the wider sector.
