Dear Labour Party (UK) / Rt Hon Rachel Reeves / Kier Starmer. As you work out your budget and the plan to drive the public services back to where they should be, bring our economy back into growth mode, and work out your definition of who fits under your "working people" classification...please don't lose sight of these stats. "As of early 2024, around 5.6 million small businesses (with 0 to 49 employees) were operating in the UK. Small and medium-sized enterprises (#SMEs) as a whole employ nearly 16.7 million people, which makes up around 61% of total private sector employment. The big companies are important for supply chains and total GDP but don't forget the engine room of our economy. Approximately 82.1% of the UK’s #workforce is employed in the private sector, with around 17.9% working in the public sector." This data has been taken from government statistics and the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Hopefully your decisions on tax rises will consider the above data. #growth #hiring #thelittleguys
