LET’S TALK ABOUT NEURODIVERSITY CELEBRATION WEEK! 🧠
When we say #FuelYourIndividuality, we mean it. Neurodiversity Celebration Week is an important reminder that different minds bring different ideas and strengths to the table – quite literally! We caught up with Holly Brown, Operations Director and Chair of Dive In, one of our inclusion networks, on how we’re championing neurodiversity and the simple changes that can make a big difference. ⬇️
Neurodivergence comes in many forms from ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, Tourette’s syndrome, OCD and more. We know that when people are supported to work in a way that suits them best, they flourish. And when people flourish, businesses do too. That’s why listening, learning and taking action matters.
✨Inclusion starts with action
Workplace adjustments are key to making sure everyone has a fair shot at success. Some of us process information quickly, others take more time. Some work better with some structure while others need flexibility.
Many neurodivergent individuals are sensitive to noise, bright lights or strong smells. Simple adjustments can make a big difference:
• Create quiet spaces for better focus
• Offer flexibility in where and how people work
• Be mindful of virtual meeting preferences (e.g. cameras off, chat participation)
✨Tools that empower
Invest in tools and training to remove barriers. For dyslexia support we offer Read/Writer toolbars and for hidden disabilities we offer Sunflower training sessions. This helps support different ways of working and help our people play to their strengths.
✨Support different work styles
Distractions can be overwhelming, so you can help your teams by:
• Encouraging meeting-free focus time
• Welcoming doodling or fidget tools in meetings
✨Challenge unconscious bias and champion change
We all have biases but recognising them is the first step. It helps us move past stereotypes and embrace different ways of working.
We’re always learning from our teams, adapting and evolving to create an inclusive space where everyone isn’t just accepted but celebrated. Because when we fuel individuality, we fuel innovation.
What changes have you seen make a difference in your workplace? 💭
