What a wonderful presentation by Christina Bowden of BowdenPR this was. Christina works closely with the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans. The recent D day events involves taking many of the veterans back to Normandy to revisit and remember many of their comrades and friends who fell there. The stories and photos were amazing, the room of 40 business people was silent as Christina gently talked us through so much. Would you liked to have been there? 🐮 Another great networking meeting this morning. Unfortunately this was the only picture I could get, from left to right is myself, Brian Wakefield, David Skinner, Dean Johnson, kevin edmonds…. This week in my 60 seconds I talked about how we came to a conclusion for a customer of mine with some sensible discussions with underwriters. It’s great to work for a business where it isn’t always ‘computer says no’, there’s a human who can say ‘maybe’ if we can manage the risk like ‘x’. A great 10 minute presentation from Lisa Pirie MICB and Anne Collins Acey Bookkeeping Ltd, which took us beyond sales invoices and purchase invoices focussing on their overall approach to bookkeeping. It was refreshing, and great to see the levels they go to make sure the client understands their finances fully. Fully deserving of their ‘Luca Award’ according to the feedback the room, fantastic to hear. I had a catch up with Kenny Stibbles afterwards, we not only found some common ground with what we can offer, but also noticed gaps we could fill. Also great to see familiar faces such as Mark Degiorgio, Claire Noyelle, Samantha Fairchild, Sara Sheppard TEP FSWW, Anita McAloren Dip PC, Ben Leach, John Nicholson, Ben Bowles, and Julie Barry. A thoroughly busy and enjoyable 1st meeting of the year for the #Maidstone group. So pleased to be at our new venue with such a perfect space for us. Chris Garford kicked us off here with the inaugural presentation of 2024. So that's it then, another amazing year draws to a close with the final meeting of the year at BBN Dartford. These hardy few were left at the end of the meeting, sporting an interesting array of festive regalia, 📸 Pete Bresser is not in the pic as he took it! Well done to Bradley Thornburrow from The Happiness Box. He is a new business, born really out of Covid lockdown and now growing into something quite special.
