A highlight of last week: Finding out that Grace Beverley knows who I am 🤯... kind of I recently wrote on LinkedIn about one of our Instagram series at Belong, "How to sound smart at the dinner table". ICYMI, we post a short video every Friday to equip our followers with an interesting fact or story (loosely finance-related) that they can keep in their back pockets for weekend dinner parties. One of our recent videos explains the origin story of the stock market. It's been doing the rounds on Instagram, and appeared on the feed of none other than Grace Beverley (!!) She then shared it on her broadcast channel, sending our reel to thousands of her followers. Unsurprisingly, we saw a spike in engagement. For those who aren't familiar with broadcast channels: They're a relatively recent addition to Instagram that let influencers send out updates, announcements, and behind-the-scenes content to their followers. A one-way group chat, basically. Broadcast channels on Instagram seem pretty untouched by influencer marketing (so far). Maybe this is because they're a new feature that haven't been quite "figured out" yet, but I'll be interested to see how this changes over time. They're a direct line of contact with an influencer's most engaged followers, and from my (albeit extremely limited) experience, can result in engagement for the brand too! Crowdfunding has literally blown us away! Belong launched its first crowdfund 2 weeks ago.
