🚨 New Report Alert! 🚨 Did you know that only 1 in 7 NHS areas in the UK are able to provide the recommended level of intensive community and day treatments for both children and young people, and adults with eating disorders? Our new report, ‘There’s No Place Like Home’, highlights the urgent need to expand access to intensive community and day treatments for eating disorders. Read here: https://lnkd.in/ehiqNeff Intensive community and day treatments can provide effective and personalised care by filling the gap between standard outpatient care and inpatient care as part of a wider treatment plan. We read through all the research and found that intensive community and day treatments: - Can achieve similar outcomes to inpatient care, while being preferable to patients and more empowering to families/carers - Significantly reduce the number of patients that need inpatient treatment, while minimising the length of time spent in hospital for those that do. - Can be provided at much lower cost than inpatient care, producing savings for the NHS that can be reinvested to help more people quickly access quality treatment. "My time in day treatment was life changing. After years of outpatient therapy, day treatment supported me in making changes in my eating that felt too scary and overwhelming [...]I don’t think I would be where I am today without day treatment support." — Person with lived experience We will be campaigning for Intensive community and day treatments to be available for everyone that needs them. Let’s ensure no one is left behind. Register via our form to keep updated on the campaign here: https://lnkd.in/ev85-JSa 🌟 #EatingDisorders #MentalHealthMatters #DayTreatment #CommunityCare #HealthcareEquality

The clocks go back tonight, which means tomorrow you'll get an extra hour! Here are some ideas on how to spend this extra time: ⏰ Have an extra hour in bed! A day for you to get your 8 hours of sleep. ⏰ Start that book you've been meaning to read. ⏰ Pamper yourself with a bubble bath, face mask, paint your nails - or all three! ⏰ Write a journal entry about what you're grateful for, and how you want your November to go. ⏰ Catch up with a friend or family member you haven't spoken to in a while. ⏰ Take some time out that you wouldn't usually have to meditate. Set your intentions for the day. How will you be spending your extra hour on Sunday?

    • Bright blue background with white capitalised text. Text at the top of the screen reads 'How can you spend' and at the bottom of the screen reads 'your extra hour'. This sentence is bisected by a line of three illustrations next to each other. On the left is a wrist watch with a digital face, showing 14:26. In the middle is a wall clock showing the time of ten past nine. On the right is a smart phone showing on the screen 8:00.

Did you know that those from the black community are less likely to receive a diagnosis or treatment for an eating disorder, even though studies have shown that they may be more affected by some types of eating disorders?* We are here for everyone who has an eating disorder, as we know that anyone can be affected. Therefore, we want to be able to highlight the huge variety of experiences of eating disorders to make sure everyone knows that eating disorders are not just for one group of people. This will help uplift those who are less likely to speak up or be believed, and make sure that eating disorder support and treatment is more equal for all. If you need support for your eating disorder, or know someone who does, contact our Helpline via DM, email or phone. We are here to help everyone. *Stat taken from Science Daily, 'Black girls are 50 percent more likely to be bulimic than white girls, study finds'.

    • Dark purple background with white text, reading 'Did you know that black teenagers are 50% more likely to exhibit binge purge behaviours than white teens... yet are also less likely able to receive a diagnosis for an eating disorder?'
