It's #BCorpMonth and we are still flying the B Corp flag for furry friends here at Beco | b corp. But, what does it mean to be a Certified B Corporation™ ?   B Corp is more than a badge. It's a commitment to continually improving how you run your business and consider all stakeholders equally (humans, pups, and planet included).   The framework has given us a baseline to build on and run with (think social and environmental zoomies) and helped keep us focused. The power of the B Corp movement is bigger than any one business, it's rethinking the role business plays in society, moving from serving the few to serving the many. That sounds pretty good to us.   B Corp's collective goal is bigger than a biiiig stretch, built on infinite small individual actions. And so, to contribute, we’ve been rummaging away in the background to improve how we do things at Beco (both in and out of the B Corp framework).   For our 2024 impact journal, we're still crunching the numbers. But, if you want to see our latest progress report, you can find our 2023 one below. For 2024's, we'll be dropping it like it's (a) hot (dog) soon...   B Corp isn't perfect, and B Corps aren't either, but it's progress. We've sprung into B Lab UK month with flying colours (plus some treats and a fetch toy or three 👀) , as we launched in Thetford Garden Centre at the end of February 🎉 The fellow B Corp has been an independent, family-run business for 40 years, and aim to create a sustainable and fundamentally kind environment around them and for their customers every day. We are proud to join them and offer their local community lots of goodies and more environmentally friendly options for all their pups. And that, is a wrap ✨ We've had an amazing year at Beco, and these are just a few of our highlights. The entire team have been working hard to make a difference, and bit by bit we have been keeping our promise to strive in making the pet industry kinder on the planet. Each and every one of us is important in making a shift in our industry. So we also want to congratulate all other brands - in all industries - for making or planning changes to reduce their impact on the planet this year. What better sight than a cart full to the brim of ✨ minty freshness ✨ ? We had the pleasure of joining Friends of Wandsworth Common for their first ever dog show in London early this September, where we handed out little parcels of freshness in the form of our loved mint scented dog poop bags. One of the greatest parts of meeting current - and future - customers of Beco | b corp is that we get to see their reaction in real life. Every 'ooo!' and 'mmm!' (along with the occasional friendly bark from our furry friends), makes us strive to bring dog lovers not only the products they need, but in a form they want... AND love.
