BEL Valves worked with Italian sub-contractor, RETTIFICA MECCANICA SRL to supply two sets of 36” expanding gates and seats for an onshore project in Trinidad. The BEL Valves team recently visited Retiffica Meccanica to witness the final inspection activities and sign off. Thank you to the Rettifica Meccanica team for their excellent performance on this project.

BEL Valves has completed an offshore survey on 56 x hydraulic spring return valves and actuators, ranging from 2” to 10” with pressures up to 15,000psi. The valves are installed on a high pressure, high temperature platform in the North Sea. It took just one week for the BEL Valves team to survey all of the valves and provide recommendations for life extension of the valves and actuators. BEL Valves has delivered six API 6DSS 8” CL900 subsea gate valves for a project set to be pivotal for the future of decarbonisation in Europe. The valves will be situated to the side of a floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) within pipeline end manifolds. Our team have completed inspection of two sets of expanding gates and seat rings for a 36” class 600 through conduit gate valve. The components were originally supplied in 2013 and remained in storage without going into service. To recommission the valves, the gates and seats were returned to BEL valves to allow for the creation of a reconditioning plan. The expanding gates and seat rings have been reconditioned to increase the sealing performance of the valve, which included an upgrade to a tighter leak rate, thereby extending their service life. Once fully complete they will be returned to Trinidad, where our technicians will reassemble the components and assist with testing to complete the project. #gatevalve #valveservice #expandinggate
