About us

Bellway is a FTSE 250 house builder, headquartered in Newcastle upon Tyne, which operates 22 trading divisions across England, Scotland, and Wales. The company has grown from a family firm, established more than 75 years ago, into a respected national brand, selling almost 11,200 homes a year. Our divisional operating structure enables us to focus on regional needs, utilising the local knowledge of our management teams in each area to create developments that appeal to prospective buyers; allowing us to build quality homes people want to live in and to contribute positively to local communities. As well as building a wide variety of different house types, we undertake initiatives designed to enhance the environment for our residents and wider neighbourhoods, in addition to satisfying the needs of local authorities. Our employees are fundamental to our success and we currently employ more than 3,000 people across the company, each helping us to realise our goals surrounding build quality and unrivalled customer service. Our commitment to attracting and retaining our people is reflected in the training and career progression opportunities we offer, alongside the company benefits we continue to introduce. The housebuilding sector has changed significantly over the decades and Bellway’s long heritage is testament to our ability to respond and adapt to fluid market conditions. Nowhere is this more evident than in changing attitudes towards the environment and the management of scarce resources. Sustainability is a central tenet of Bellway’s business, both in our use of materials, and in our building practices. Our success in this field is proudly detailed in our annual corporate responsibility report.

Bellway South London is celebrating after winning a prestigious award for a house which sets the standard for what a modern sustainable home of the future could look like. 🏆 The four-bedroom Reedmaker at Fallow Wood View, in the West Sussex town of Burgess Hill, has won the ‘Best House’ category in the Evening Standard New Homes Awards 2024. The four-bedroom detached home, which is part of Bellway's flagship Artisan Collection, has been adapted to incorporate low-carbon features including an air source heat pump, PV panels and a sustainable FSC-certified timber frame instead of traditional blockwork. The team from Bellway South London accepted the award at a ceremony held at the Dorchester Hotel in London on Friday 27th September. 🗣 Daniel Williamson, Sales Director at Bellway South London, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have won this award at this prestigious event in the UK’s property calendar. Our team put a great deal of thought and effort into the design of the Reedmaker at Fallow Wood View and it is very satisfying to see their work recognised by this coveted accolade. “The Reedmaker is not a bespoke eco-home but an attainable low-carbon property for ordinary families which can be rolled out at scale, helping to provide a possible template for how the industry as a whole can meet the challenge of moving towards net zero. “As part of our Better with Bellway sustainability strategy we have used timber, a renewable material, in place of carbon-intensive block construction methods, and included technologies such as an air source heat pump, solar PV panels and wastewater heat recovery to help further reduce carbon emissions.” In choosing the winners, the judges were looking for homes and developments that reflect, or exceed, current best practice in the housebuilding industry in a number of areas including quality of design, value for money, energy-efficiency and innovation. ✅ Find out more about Fallow Wood View here: https://lnkd.in/ew6hmx2s

Openreach Forum Panel 💡   Currently less than 15% of people employed in construction are women, and last Thursday, our Group Sales Manager, Alexandra Philipson, joined a panel of brilliant female leaders from across the industry including, Kelly Canterford MRICS, Aisha M. and Tracey Hill at Openreach's Annual Developer Forum. The panellists discussed the key importance of allyship and culture within our industry, and what collectively we're doing, to not only bring in more diverse groups to the industry, but also to ensure we're doing enough to foster and retain existing talent. Thank you to Andy Neilson, lesley kellett and Craig Bucknall from Openreach for a great event.
