During the height of the pandemic, like many, I found myself grappling with the unprecedented stress of both work and home life, weighed down by the uncertainty and limited human connection. In search of some balance, I stumbled upon boxing—a sport I never imagined myself getting into. So, what has boxing taught me about myself and my work life? Boxing is often perceived as a gritty and brutish sport for men, but what it has taught me is that, as much as it is a tough workout, it is equally a mental discipline. It has taught me about resilience, focus, and the sheer power of persistence and determination. Each session is not just a physical workout but a mental one, ensuring you stay present, alert, and calm under pressure. In office life, if you lose focus, you have time for course correction. In the ring, with a fist potentially coming at your face at 20 mph, alertness, innovation, and resilience are key to staying in the game. These lessons transcend the ring and have brought a fresh perspective to my professional life. Boxing has turned out to be more than just a physical workout (to shed those pandemic pounds!); it has been, and continues to be, my mental reset button. It’s not just about staying physically active but finding something that resonates on a deeper level, helping me combat stress and emerge stronger. ❓ Have you found any unexpected activities that help manage stress? ❓ I would love to hear about them. Lastly, credits to Manya Klempner who swapped banking for boxing and is building an incredible business with the Boxing House clubs where I do my training. Link in the comments for more about the business. #Leadership #MentalHealth

Our newest club, but the one that is most frequented by celebrated professional boxers. Also, the club that reached out to help The Lynn - a very prestigious and celebrated amateur boxing club boasting many alumni talents including Adam Booth and Ellie Scotney. The Lynn was literally falling apart and was shut down. Bermondsey Boxing Club stepped up, and we extended an invitation to host our neighbours at the gym (on a complimentary basis, of course), while remedial works were done... give or take a couple of months. #FightTogehter. We are proud to welcome our new community. I'm even prouder that they are so pleased with their temporary environs. We're also delighted that Matchroom Boxing stepped up today to #fund the outstanding works at #TheLynn - bravo #EddieHearn! Everyone is welcome to be a party of our community - please do join us! #boxing #boxingclub #boxinggym #londonboxing #boxinglondon #sports #lifestyle

Chief People Officer. Executive Coach. Passionate about wellness and creating a psychological safe space where everyone can be themselves, amplify their voice and feel included.

So proud that Paytrix has partnered with STEPtember this month. Our Paytrix teams are stepping up to support the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation this month. We are joining 120 organisations and over 15,000 people participating in this movement towards inclusivity! Combining wellness, (both physical and mental health) social connection  and giving back to the community all whilst raising awareness of disabilities & promoting inclusion and diversity. We thought this would be a great activity for everyone globally 🌎 to get involved in, mixed in, of course, with a bit of healthy competition. Some of our people chose to do it alone, others joined a team. It's been amazing to see the teamwork displayed. Individuals collaborating together and joining people from other countries and departments to connect and get moving. The openness and kindness displayed by our teams at Paytrix has been amazing. Supportive and encouraging - ensuring anyone who wanted to join a team was welcomed with open arms. Participants share photos & stories about the way they are racking up their STEPS. It’s so inspiring & it's a great way to connect with one another, beyond work! We get glimpses of people doing activities with families, friends& pets 🐕 . We’ve seen people cycling 🚵♂️ , boxing, gardening, whilst being privy to some incredible scenery 🌆 , with some participating during their holidays. The target is to achieve 10,000 steps a day - with nearly 80 activities to meet everyone's unique passions and hobbies - there's something for everyone To further entice our people, our Executive Team agreed to collectively donate money 🤑 on behalf of the winning Team & Individual who: 🎯 First achieves 200,000 steps 🎯 Achieves the MOST amount of steps by the end of September Personally, I love this initiative for so many reasons: 🚀 Encourages cross functional & global collaboration 🚀 Builds authentic connections  🚀 Gives back to the community  🚀 Raises awareness of Cerebral Palsy and other disabilities  🚀 Promotes inclusion, belonging and diversity  🚀 Is great for overall wellbeing (physical, social, mental and community give back) 🚀 You choose your own path/journey on how you achieve your goals What initiatives are you involved in that encompass all of the above, & positively impact your overall well-being & the community as a whole ? It’s never too late to sign up - I'm sure the amazing Georgia Tonkin can help. I've been getting my steps in through hiking, walking, boxing, cycling, dancing, pilates & walking meetings!! Thanks to the amazing trainers & their awesome workouts at THE BOXING HOUSE LIMITED, Kensington Boxing Club,Camden Boxing Club, Bermondsey Boxing Club & Rathbone Boxing Club, I'm achieving over 10,000 steps per class. The best 🥊 clubs ever! I'm trying to achieve over 25,000 steps a day with our stellar team Yuliya Kniazeva, Jessica Smith Aleksandra Maciejewska & all of our wonderful Paytrix team.

The 3rd gym in #THEBOXINGHOUSE portfolio. Only 1 year old but already in the top ranks. Does this count as a #hattrick? #BenDavison back for some more magic at Kensington Boxing Club on 24 Sept. He did it first at Bermondsey ❤️ #FightTogether #boxing #boxinglondon #londonboxing #boxingclub #boxinggym #boxingforfitness #sport #victoriassecretboxing Rachel Bower
