Last week the BM Sunderland Family launched officially its Partnership with Fareshare North East! The BM Sunderland Family have committed to giving 22.5 tonne of chicken a year! We are committed and dedicated to supporting our community, with relationships being established with Fareshare Northeast, Sunderland Soup Kicthen, Dame Dorothy Primary School and also having an on site food donation bin to support. 💜 Pictured our some of our Colleague forum members, USDAW Union reps and family members with long length of service.

This week the BM Sunderland Family started its other ESG agenda activity of monthly litter picking - we had family members Tina, Karlis and Ian spend 1 hour clearing the perimeter and supporting community outside of the factory. A lot was collected! The BM Sunderland Family's ESG agenda factors in People, Product and Planet. We are working with Fareshare Northeast, Sunderland Soup Kitchen, Dame Dorothy Primary School and more to support the local community - this is another thing! 💜

We have been doing lots of training at the BM Sunderland Family! Completing Food Safety Level 3 (Dayan Rathnayake, QA), Food Safety Culture Bespoke Training, Health and Safety and we also have our family member Grzegorz Krowiak (Site Services) start his Maintenance Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship with Seta (Sunderland Engineering Training Association Limited). He went today for a tour with Stuart Petch Engineering Manager! Good Luck Grzegorz! 💜

Holiday season over! The BM Sunderland Family have been hard at work organising for all office and management to do a shift in the Factory, for a 'Day in the Life Of.' From Monday 19th September, for 5 weeks, family will be working together to take the opportunity to learn and appreciate the hard work that goes on in the factory. This will also form part of our new induction for new family members! Plenty of Photos and news to follow! 💜

What a great day! The BM Sunderland Family over the past few weeks have met with FareShare North East and Sunderland Community Soup Kitchen separately/individually, to talk about how the BM Sunderland Family can support the local community in different ways - by supporting both organisations in different ways. There will be support to both organisations and the team are excited especially to support with volunteering, supporting over Christmas and the helping with food surplus. Two different, amazing and exciting partnerships! 💜 #wearefamily

We are delighted to welcome a new local partnership with Bernard Matthews Sunderland! It was great to welcome #NatalieWorrall and Kay Dykes to our warehouse today, pledging 22.5 Tonne of local surplus each year to FareShare North East. This will be enough food towards 4,500 meals each month to help people experiencing food insecurity in the North East! Thank You
