From filling critical gaps to bringing expertise to short-term projects, temp workers like Caroline make a significant impact across industries: "My name is Caroline Duffy, and I am contracted as an Academic Administrator at a college in Oxford. ❓ How did you first get into temp work? Berry Recruitment reached out to me when my CV was uploaded online with Indeed. ❓ What is the biggest benefit that temp work offers you? Temping was the obvious option to allow me to try different organisations and roles. I’m enjoying temping as it opens up opportunities to learn a breadth of skills and gain knowledge in areas I wouldn’t otherwise have been exposed to. ❓ What do you love most about temp work? Berry and particularly Kathy, have been so very supportive and in constant communication to ensure I am happy in my role and whether any issues need to be raised. Dare I say there have been no issues. ❓ What do you enjoy doing in your free time when you're not working? In my down time I enjoy golf and walking my dog in new places. It’s a lovely balance."

Today's Autumn Budget announcement includes several impactful updates, particularly around employment and business costs. Here's a quick summary of what is set to change: 💼 Employment and Payroll Updates National Insurance Contributions: Employers' NICs will rise by 1.2%, to 15% from April 2025. Minimum Wage Increase: For those 21 and over, minimum wage will rise by 6.7%, reaching £12.21 per hour, and for 18-20-year-olds, minimum wage will increase to £10 per hour, up by 16.3% 🏢 Business Support Changes Business Rates Relief: For retail, leisure, and hospitality, the relief rate will reduce from 75% to 45%.
