A great day yesterday at the Partners in Care conference and AGM held at Shrewsbury Town FC. Thank you to those that stopped by to speak with Chris and Julie. It was also good to catch up with both clients in the social care space and faces of old. #socialcare #ITSupportTelford #ManagedIT

Today might be a big day in the world of politics, but did you know that 4th July marks a significant anniversary in the world of technology too? On this day in 1956, MIT’s Whirlwind computer became the first in the world to let people input commands using a keyboard. Before this innovation, all inputs were done through dials, switches, and punch cards. Could you imagine doing work without a keyboard??? NO THANKS! I’m a fan of dictating text, but I still need my keyboard (mostly to correct it). Do you think dictation will take over eventually, or will we always have keyboards? #TechHistory #TheKeyboard #TogetherAtLast https://lnkd.in/dqYkWgh

Ever been mid video call and *PING* a notification pops up that you’d rather your colleagues didn’t see? Awkward. But it doesn’t have to be that way anymore. Microsoft has come up with yet another solution to make our lives easier (and spare your embarrassment, too). Read our tech update (link in comments) which explains how to stop annoying notifications making you cringe during calls. #Notifications #VideoCalls #Microsoft

Don't be a sitting duck! 🦆 Regular vulnerability assessments are your shield against cyber threats. They're crucial for identifying and fixing security gaps before attackers exploit them. However many companies skip doing them thinking it won't harm them if they just carry on as normal. Unpatched weaknesses leave you wide open to attacks though. Read our insight (link in comments) to discover why VAs are essential for a strong security posture. #cybersecurity #vulnerabilityassessment #vulnerabilitytesting #securityawareness

Read this before it’s too late... The worst time to decide how to deal with a cyber attack is when you’re right in the middle of one. Unfortunately, it’s something you’ll probably need to deal with eventually – small and medium sized businesses are a prime target for cyber criminals. It’s a good idea to make a plan now, so that if the worst happens, you and your team are prepared to minimise the damage caused, the money spent, and the downtime suffered. Our latest guide highlights 5 steps to stop a cyber attack causing the downfall of your business. You can find out more about the effects of a cyber attack and the importance of a recovery plan on our blog

Microsoft is launching Team Copilot later this year, expanding the reach of their AI assistant from individual tasks to team projects and meetings. What exactly is this? It’s a collaborative tool designed to make your work life easier by acting as an AI-powered assistant in group settings. This means it can join your Teams video calls to take notes, create follow-up tasks, track agenda times, and assist in both in-person and hybrid meetings. Essentially, it’s a smart assistant that helps you stay on top of everything during a meeting. Team Copilot can also summarise long group chats, highlight important info, and answer questions from the group. It’s perfect for making sure everyone is on the same page without getting bogged down by long conversations. Need help managing projects? Team Copilot’s got that covered too. It can create tasks and goals within Microsoft Planner, assign them to team members, and even draft documents like blog posts. Plus, it will notify the team when additional input is needed, keeping everyone aligned and on track. While the feature is still in preview and will be available later this year for Microsoft 365 customers with a Copilot subscription. I think the potential benefits are huge - it’s all about making group work more efficient and productive. What do you think about Microsoft Copilot and all the uses it has? #TeamsCopilot #Microsoft #AI

It’s in the palm of your hand... Passwords are frustrating, right? Simple passwords are too easy to guess… and safer complicated passwords are too difficult to remember. There’s another better way, right in the palm of your hand… or rather, at your fingertips. This week's #TechUpdate explains why you should embrace biometrics.
