🤝 Meet Kate "I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2003 working as an auditor for a national firm based in Manchester. This gave me a wide range of exposure to both the business world and VCSE sector. After qualifying, I moved to be the Finance Manager for a family business, where I really enjoyed being part of a small team. I decided that the charitable sector was for me and so I became the Financial Controller for a national charity. I have loved this role but now feel ready for a fresh challenge and am excited to work with Emma and the team at Beyond Profit to offer accountancy services and financial advice to a variety of charities." We all have mental health and how we are mentally impacts how we show up in our lives including at work. Our Managing Director, Emma Willder, FCMA has this to say... I myself have anxiety which can, on some days be so high that I struggle to function. I have found ways of dealing with this including being kinder to myself, recognising when my anxiety is having an impact on how I react to things (especially emails) and recently I have had a course of solution-focused hypnotherapy which has helped a lot. I used to think that there was shame in admitting that I have anxiety, I reckon if you have met me you wouldn’t know that I have anxiety – I have become good at hiding it. But here’s the thing – once you share your mental health struggles you’ll find that many others admit they have mental health struggles too and you’re not alone. #WorldMentalHealthDay

Trustees have a significant role to play in helping to build trust and confidence with the public In fact, as part of their role and responsibility within the charity, building confidence and trust can come through many means. Are you a charity working Greater Manchester? Do you undertake Youth Work? Applications for the Peter Kershaw Memorial Bursary are now open. This is an annual award made by the Trustees in memory of the Trust's benefactor. The bursary is intended to fund the costs of a youth leader, though other forms of youth work will be considered. Trustees favour applications from charities whose income is less than £1,000,000. Organisations with charitable status in Greater Manchester are invited to apply for the bursary, which will be awarded on the basis of up to £30,000 for year 1, £20,000 for year 2 and £15,000 for year 3.  More info can be found here https://lnkd.in/eNKMjJNi #charity #charities #greatermanchester #funding It would be great if my local contact can share this too.
