BGF has taken part in an oversubscribed £58m investment round, providing fresh funding to Cambridge-based Maxion Therapeutics. Gemma Hamilton and Milly Hartley from our Scotland and Northern Ireland team hosted a fantastic evening last night, celebrating the important role of women in private equity 🌟 The evening was buzzing with conversation as women across the industry reconnected, made new contacts, and enjoyed drinks, styling tips, and shopping at Mint Velvet’s Edinburgh store. A British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA) report found that by 2025, 27% of UK investment professionals will be women—progress, but there’s still work to do in opening doors for more women in finance. We were also joined by three students from Future Asset, an initiative that introduces young women in Scotland to careers in investment, building ambition and confidence.
