BIBA reposted this
Reporting in Manchester Reporting to the FCA was the topic of the day in Manchester as our regional tour continues. Whether that be business resilience reports, RMAR, or other requests, the frequency, timing and repetition along with cost of employing outside professionals to assist were concerns for our audience. Another often discussed issue was the huge workload of Fair Value Assessments - certainly when broker is making a professional advised sale. It was good to hear that the FCA has taken this feedback on board as part of the current consultation process. Thanks to Mark Coffey at Premium Credit Ltd for sponsoring once again and thank you Gareth Finney hosting us at the Clyde & Co offices. We'll forgive you for thrashing us at the BIBA Manchester quiz night. We thought it only right to observe the 'let the wookie win principle'! We are off to Liverpool today for 11am start and will be joined by our Head of Public Affairs, Shayne Halfpenny-Ray who will be available to provide relevant commentary on today's Budget, once presented by the Chancellor. Flood Re's Emma Holroyde will also be on the tour with us today and will no doubt be keeping an eye on what the Chancellor's approach to spending on flood resistance and resilience will be especially given her commitment to build 1.5million new homes. Thanks to our regional committee Gary, John Batty Natasha Miotk BA, ACII Emma Robinson Hannah Ebbitt-Ngang Adam Coates Joanna Vickers Natasha Hall Jo Shorthouse and all. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in the Liverpool Malmaison today with David Sparkes, Neil Jenkinson and Shayne. GT
