Exciting news! 🌱 A new research project is set to explore the biodiversity potential of solar farms in the UK. RSK Biocensus is proud to collaborate with EDF Renewables UK & Ireland and the University of Exeter on this initiative, focusing on the proposed 380-hectare Longfield Solar Farm in Essex – soon to be the UK's largest ☀️, generating enough energy for 96,000 homes annually 🏡. Over six years, a PhD student will study this site and others, supported by RSK Biocensus and the University of Exeter. 🌿📸 Spotted: Water voles in their natural habitat! Our ecology team had the pleasure of observing these charming little creatures, a key indicator of healthy ecosystems. It is always rewarding to see species like the water vole thriving. Moments like these remind us why it’s so important to protect and preserve wildlife. Let’s keep working together to ensure future generations can enjoy these beautiful sights in the wild! 🐾💧 #Ecology #Conservation #WildlifeProtection #WaterVoles #Biodiversity

Recently, our Aquatic team was engaged in their area of expertise 🌊 and It was inspiring to see some of our ecologists actively involved in fish rescues and surveys, making a real impact on conservation efforts. Great teamwork all around!
I have had the opportunity to get out with RSK Biocensus Aquatic team, something I’ve been wanting to do for a while. Throughly enjoyed helping out with fish rescues and surveys. Hopefully with some more to come in the next week or so. Big thanks to Ben Faulkner and Joe Wain for having me along!
