As we wrap up our International Women's Day spotlight series, who better to have in the spotlight than our brilliant Head of Marketing, Nikki Dobricki. Over to Nik... Unofficially, I kicked off my marketing career in 1992 when I promoted indie bands in New York. It was fun and exciting but managing the expectations of wannabe rock gods certainly had its challenges! When I returned home, I knew I had the marketing bug and got my first “official” marketing role in 2000. I have been with BiP for 11 years with a brief hiatus to market kitchens in between. Having previously marketed B2B financial services, I was keen to try D2C and market a product that you could tangibly touch. It also presented an opportunity to get involved in above the line advertising and it was interesting to develop radio and television campaigns. It wasn’t long until I missed my spiritual home at BiP in the high-octane environment of lead generation and sales and was fortunate enough to be welcomed back. It’s certainly a fast paced, agile environment and I can honestly say that it is NEVER dull. It’s a great place with fantastically talented people that never fail to amaze me. I like the variety, getting to work directly with every function in the business and more importantly, getting to shape the direction of travel and drive growth. Undoubtedly, change in the Marketing world is happening at pace. The importance of leveraging data analytics and AI to deliver tailored experiences for customers, i.e, personalisation, product recommendations and high quality curated content that resonates with individual preferences is key. Also, predictive analysis to forecast customer behaviours is also transforming the marketing landscape. Throughout my career, the most important lesson I have learned as a female in a Leadership position is embrace authenticity, self believe and always leaning into the support and mentorship of my other brilliant female colleagues on the team." It's been great to spotlight a few of the many incredible female colleagues this week, and celebrate their huge contribution to Team BiP. Next up, we are handing over to Megha Sharma. Megha is a team member within our Data Science function in the role of Junior Data Scientist. "My intrigue in data science was ignited during my tenure as a Data Analyst at Deloitte in Gurugram, India, where I had firsthand experience with large-scale data projects. The opportunity to analyse complex data sets and derive actionable insights significantly influenced my decision to delve deeper into this field. Pursuing a master’s in data science from the University of Stirling in the UK was a strategic step to enhance my analytical skills and embrace advanced machine learning techniques. The dynamic nature of data science, coupled with its profound impact on decision-making and strategic planning, solidified my commitment to this career path. Continual learning is integral to my role at BiP Solutions, where the dynamic nature of our projects demands constant upskilling. I leverage the Udemy business account which is available to BiP colleagues to access a wide array of courses that help me stay ahead in understanding new technologies and methodologies. Recently, I learned Elastic search, which was entirely new to me but essential for my current projects. Each new project at BiP introduces unique challenges and learning opportunities, enhancing my technical skills, and keeping my knowledge base current. Currently, I am involved in three innovative projects at BiP Solutions that are shaping the future of business intelligence in the public sector. All of which, will aim to help our BI customers grow their business through early engagement which will identify and capitalize on new opportunities efficiently. To attract more women to the tech and data science sectors, I believe in strengthening the representation of successful female data scientists and technologists. Creating platforms for visibility, sharing success stories, and providing networking opportunities are essential. Educational workshops and initiatives that target young women from school levels up to higher education should highlight the creativity and impact of technology roles. Mentorship programs led by female leaders can also play a pivotal role in inspiring and guiding aspiring women, making the path to technology careers more accessible and supported." #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2025

Today on our International Women's Day spotlight series, we have Hannah Alexandra Connaghan ⭐ who is part of our Customer Success Team, in the role of Customer Success Manager. "I have been with BiP for 6 months. While it is not a long time on the grand scheme of things, I feel like I have taken leaps forward in my personal development and I have made friends for life! My role as a Customer Success Manager at BiP involves working with customers to help them achieve their goals in the public sector. While a big part of this involves supporting them with the BI platform, it also involves helping them achieve their goals in the public sector more broadly. I’m fortunate to work with customers across a diverse range of industry sectors and companies of all sizes. Sales can be very unpredictable and challenging at times. The highs in sales are the best feeling and when you are winning as a team, there is no better feeling in the world. When you face challenges, its important to stay positive and persistent in pursuit of your goals. What positives can you take from a month where maybe you fell short and what can you improve on for the next one? You can also seek the support of your team – I’m fortunate to be in a team that champions and lifts one another. As advice to my younger self pursuing a role in sales, I would tell myself to be resilient and that hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. Keep putting in the hard work and it will all pay off." #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2025 Next up, is Megha Sharma who you will hear from tomorrow.

Day two, of celebrating our female colleagues across BiP, and today it's time to meet Product Owner Aimee Crawford, who is a key member of our Product team within our Business Intelligence function. "I am the Product Owner for our Business Intelligence SaaS solution. My role started with reacting and implementing work based on business strategic goals. Now, I contribute to this strategy and get to work as the bridge between business, technology, and user experience. I entered the technology industry as I love solving complex problems. Females are underrepresented in the Technology industry, and one challenge I have faced is navigating spaces where I’m often in the minority. At times throughout my career, I’ve had to work harder to ensure my voice is heard and my ideas are taken seriously, and have often felt some impostor syndrome, however, I’ve learned to trust my expertise and advocate for myself. That said, the industry is evolving, and more women are stepping into leadership roles, creating a more inclusive environment. For any young professionals entering this industry, my advice to them would be to work hard and be confident in their own abilities. Seek a mentor, support one another, and celebrate each other!" #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2025 Watch out for tomorrow's spotlight, when you will hear from Hannah Alexandra Connaghan...

To celebrate, and recognise International Women’s Day 2025, we wanted to take this time to shine a spotlight on some of our brilliant female colleagues across BiP, and first up, meet Ashlea Thurston, who is the MMS Sales Manager within our Manchester office. Here is Ashlea’s story… “I joined BiP almost two years ago. Before Joining BIP, I worked in a sales leadership role , where I led a team that sold commercial advertising including Out of Home, Radio and Digital for Global. More recently, I moved into a sales leadership role that worked in the Digital Content marketing space working with industries such as Science, Technology and medical worldwide. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with a wide range of clients across different industries and global markets, which has given me a strong understanding of the broader marketing landscape. I pursed a career in sales as I’ve always enjoyed working with people and the fast-paced nature of sales, so it felt like the right path for me. Stepping into a team leader role just six months into my first sales job over 10 years ago, leadership happened quite naturally. What drives me now is seeing my team grow, tackle challenges, and succeed. It’s fulfilling to support them while also delivering strong results for the business. Throughout my career, one of the best pieces of advice I’ve received is to listen more than you talk. Sales isn’t just about pitching, it’s about understanding what the client actually needs. The best conversations happen when you’re genuinely curious and focused on solving their challenges, not just closing a deal. That’s something I always encourage my team to keep in mind. In 2025, the focus is on growth for the MMS Manchester Sales team, not just in performance, but in how we work together as a team. Strengthening client relationships, hitting ambitious targets, and creating an environment where everyone feels supported and motivated are all key priorities. A big part of that is continually improving and evolving the overall collaboration between our Manchester and Glasgow team, ensuring we’re working as one." #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2025 Keep your eyes peeled as tomorrow, we will be handing over to Aimee Crawford

As part of our monthly BiP One Friday Social, and to recognise Employee Appreciation Day 2025, this morning, we organised a continental breakfast for the Glasgow, and Manchester offices, to mark the occasion, and to say thank you to our colleagues who make Team BiP! The Friday Social provides colleagues with a great opportunity to get away from their desks, and to come together to enjoy a croissant or two to kickstart their Friday! And they went down very well! 🥐 Alan Mathie Simon Burges Simon I. Ashlea Thurston
