Happy New Year! Wishing all of our LinkedIn community a happy and prosperous 2025 – we’re excited to see what it has in store! One thing we’re always looking forward to is seeing our team’s impressive Community Fund entries and we have one final achievement of 2024 to celebrate… Our Finance Director Jonathan K. rounded off the year with the ‘Run Up to Christmas’ challenge covering an impressive 45km throughout advent in aid of Spinal Injuries Association. His efforts support the charity to provide the time, expertise and connections essential to help rebuild lives of those impacted by spinal cord injuries. Fuelled by his determination, he battled through the flu to complete his challenge to raise awareness and funds for such a worthy cause – well done Jon!

Yesterday was Save the Children UK’s annual Christmas Jumper Day and the Bistech team turned out in full force, sporting their festive finery to ‘make the world better with a sweater’. The Bistech Community fund has made a donation on behalf of everyone who took part to help spread Christmas cheer far and wide! Never ones to miss an opportunity for a competition, this year we had prizes for the most creative, dedicated, traditional, and the most on theme for Save the Children. Congratulations to Adam, Tim, Stephen and Julie! While for many people a 5k may be associated with a Saturday morning Park Run followed by coffee and cake, Toby J. wanted to take it to the extreme… Through rain, wind, and snow, he valiantly ran a 5k every day of November for his chosen charity, Movember – all while cultivating the customary moustache. Supported by the Bistech Community Fund, he’s raised an impressive £853 for this fantastic cause. Way to go Toby! 

NCC Group have published their latest Threat Pulse, reviewing the last month in cyber security. As well as looking at the stats, this month they’ve done a deep dive into the effect geopolitics is having on malicious cyber activity… with a whopping 76% of October’s 486 attacks targeted across Europe and North America.
