HUGE NEWS: British pension specialist Cartwright has guided the UK’s FIRST pension fund to allocate 3% into Bitcoin. The unnamed fund allocated 3% of its fund into bitcoin following “consultations with the scheme’s trustees, where ESG, investment case and security were all addressed at length.” Glenn Cameron, head of digital assets at Cartwright. Sam Roberts, Director of Investment Consulting commented: “Trustees are increasingly looking for innovative solutions to future-proof their schemes in the face of economic challenges. This bitcoin allocation is a strategic move that, not only offers diversification, but also taps into an asset class with a unique asymmetric risk-return profile." The cherry on the cake is that the unnamed fund invested 3% of its total assets directly into Bitcoin, as opposed to using a proxy such as a spot ETF. Then I lost the passion for podcasting, I feared being just ‘another podcast,’ so I hit pause. 💥 MicroStrategy just dropped a $42 billion bombshell! They’re not just doubling down on Bitcoin. They’re tripling down. This new 21/21 Plan is all about raising $21 billion in equity and $21 billion in fixed-income securities over three years. Why? To keep expanding their Bitcoin holdings. They believe buying more bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset will allow them to achieve a higher BTC Yield. For Q3 2024, they already hit a 5.1% Bitcoin Yield KPI and want to drive that up to 6-10% annually by 2027. 📈 Microstrategy’s Bitcoin holding is 252,220 bitcoins acquired for a total of $9.9 Billion, or an average price of $39,266 each. At the current price of about $72,000 the company's bitcoin is worth more than $18 billion. I believe we are watching the world’s most valuable company in the making.
