(The latter part emphasises the importance of networking being a "relationships-first" activity. This week I sat down with Judith, who's recently started her HR business Blue Horizon HR after "many" years (I don't want to get in trouble for disclosing how many) in varied HR roles and sectors, but she's now decided to setup "shop" for herself. So what were 5 highlights / unexpected meanders in the conversation? 📈 The unexpected motivator in Judith launching her business being her desire to help a friend scale their craft bakery business 📦 Employees of "Sheet Board" manufacturers (cardboard to you and me) being classified as a keyworkers over Covid Lockdowns (who knew! 🤯) 🌱🧠 when starting a new business, the importance of adopting a growth mindset PLUS getting outside your comfort zone and simply “behaving” like you’d expect a business owner to: in doing so learning about LinkedIn, Networking and Podcasts ❓ The realisation whilst recently recording the #HarboroughHustle Podcast how asking better (non-scripted) questions is a skill in itself, and helps us open up and dig deeper into who we are and what we’re about 💻 The importance of checking if a 121 is virtual or f2f 😆 🐄 "All Creatures Great & Small" being a new favourite watch for our family There WERE plenty of other topics, including snippets of what each of us *actually* does! 🙄😂 ➕ Summing up: ❓Do YOU network? ❓Do you make time for 1:1's? ❓What weird, wonderful or memorable topics have come up? ❓Do you consciously follow a structure ? ❓What tips can you share? 📷❓Where was our snap snapped?
