As networks grow more complex, traditional threat detection methods need to evolve. While signature-based and DNS-based solutions handle known threats, they miss the opportunity to predict and prevent them before they happen. To stay ahead, cybersecurity must shift to a smarter, proactive approach. By turning your network data into actionable insights, you will enhance operations, strengthen your product offerings, and keep your subscribers safer online. That's where AI comes in. But not all AI is created equal. AI in cybersecurity means going beyond reactive defences and DNS filtering. It’s about true machine learning: intelligence that adapts, predicts, and stops threats before they even reach your network. So, when it comes to assessing cybersecurity solutions, dig deeper. We recognise that standards and scalability are big concerns for telcos, when considering integrating cybersecurity solutions with existing SOC tools and infrastructure. In this webinar snippet, our CISO Paul Jenkins talks through how at BlackDice, we've got the global cloud infrastructure backed by our on-premise agent, with everything API-driven. CEO Paul Hague then explains how the opportunity to integrate into your own data lake and augment the data to create new insights and correlations is "gold dust" for operators... Read our CISO, Paul Jenkins insights on why understanding NIS2 is essential for telcos to avoid costly fines, ensure seamless operations, and maintain customer trust. Key takeaways: ↳ The NIS2 Directive significantly broadens the scope of cybersecurity regulations across the European Union, placing stricter demands on critical infrastructure sectors, including telecommunications. ↳ For telcos, NIS2 introduces new cybersecurity responsibilities, such as real-time threat detection, incident reporting within 24-72 hours, and proactive risk management. ↳ Failure to comply can lead to severe penalties, including fines of up to €10 million or 2% of global turnover. Key impacts on telcos include: ↳ Expanded regulatory oversight: NIS2 applies to more sectors and services, making compliance more complex. ↳ Stricter security requirements: Telcos must adopt advanced cybersecurity measures to protect their networks from evolving threats. ↳ Increased collaboration: The directive encourages telcos to work closely with national authorities and across borders to ensure harmonised cybersecurity standards.

Some great tips for #CyberMonth2024 on 2FA from National Cyber Security Centre 👏🏽

As it's #CyberMonth2024 let's talk about a vital cyber security step: 2-Step Verification (2SV)!   Turning on 2SV is one of the most effective ways to protect your organisation's online accounts from cyber criminals, adding a double layer of protection in addition to your password. Think of your most important accounts - email, banking, social media, and shopping. Set up 2SV for each to keep cyber criminals out, even if they discover your passwords.  You'll receive a PIN or code, often via SMS or email, to prove it's really you. There are different types, like fingerprint or authenticator app-based verification. It's super quick to set up and instantly boosts your online security.   Read more about how to turn on 2SV here⬇️

Our recent work with a major European telecom operator has highlighted the immediate impact of our AI-powered cybersecurity solution. In just two weeks of deployment with a number of initial users, our system processed 2.1 million DNS records, delivering: ✔️ 30,000 profile blocks (filters applied to protect users) ✔️ 3,000 threats blocked (nearly 10% of all filtered activity) This means that 1.4% of all DNS requests were malicious or harmful, and successfully blocked before they could cause damage. These stats underscore the real-world threats your subscribers face daily.
