ICYMI: Our Lead Cyber Consultant Alison Jiggins has written a piece on 'How leaders can cultivate a cyber security company culture' #CyberSecurityAwarenessMonth Don't miss the chance for some key insights! #Cyber #InternalCommunications
It’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of #CyberSecurityAwarenessMonth and the exposure it generates, but to ensure our initiatives remain successful, strong leadership is essential in guiding our efforts moving forward. Effective leaders do more than just model best practices from the top down. They can significantly contribute to their security teams' ongoing success and motivation. Umar Waheed CISSP CISM, UK CISO of Nuance, a Microsoft company kindly spoke to me about what he thinks security teams' can do to ensure we’re making significant steps in fostering that change. ☕ 👉 https://lnkd.in/e9qB3FgU #bluegoose #EmployeeEngagement #HumanRiskManagement

"Employers are not just missing out on understanding the scale of lost work hours. Co-workers picking up the slack for absentee workers leads to increased rates of burnout for everyone else." KPMG's new Parental Work Disruption Index, that Maria Gracia Santillana highlights in her piece in Forbes this week, shows that not only are employees hit by having to alter their working pattern to care for their dependents - but so are their employers. Organisations can fall foul to having to treat circumstances as individual cases when not having a defined position. This can often create confusion around responsibilities, not only for the individual but for their teams and even wider departments. Leading to problems on the micro and macro scale. So having a clear position is key, as in an ever changing external picture, where many are affected by the current child care crisis, knowledge is power. A clearly defined offering as part of a wide ranging Employee Value Proposition is one way to ensure that your people, whether prospective or current, know what's possible so that they can thrive at your organisation. “How do you create a cyber security awareness campaign that actually grabs the attention of our employees?” For FTSE 250 technology company, Computacenter, we designed a campaign which highlighted the key role their people needed to play in a creative way through an agent and his team of cyber spies. By playing the ‘missions’ and ultimately the ‘End game’ employees were learning the cyber security behaviours they needed to take on to keep the organisation safe from cyber threats. Supporting #BlackHistoryMonth, we wanted to share the work we did to help make the UK police service All. Together. Better. As part of the commitment to recruit 20,000 new police officers across the UK, the UK Home Office, College of Policing and National Police Chiefs' Council saw this as an opportunity to increase diversity and inclusion within the police. We were tasked with helping raise awareness and understanding of why the police benefits from being more diverse, and the equitable ways of achieving that. The campaign was well received by police forces across the country, the police are now more diverse than ever before, and the campaign won Best DE&I Initiative at the Institute of Internal Communication last year! To see how we approached the challenge in the full case study, head to our website ⬇️⬇️⬇️ https://lnkd.in/e2dfNjwT
