Here’s a quick summery I use to help my customers decide: Leather Upholstery:  ✅ Durability: Leather is known for its longevity and resistance to wear and tear. With proper care, it can last for decades. ✅ Easy to Clean: Spills and stains are often easier to wipe off compared to fabric, making leather a great choice for families or high-traffic areas. ✅ Sophisticated Look: Leather adds a sense of luxury and elegance to any space. ✅ Hypoallergenic: Leather doesn’t hold dust, allergens, or pet hair, making it a good option for allergy sufferers. ❌ Price: Leather tends to be more expensive than fabric, both in terms of material cost and maintenance. ❌ Temperature Sensitivity: Leather can feel cold in winter and sticky in summer, depending on the climate and care. ❌ Scratches and Fading: While durable, leather can be prone to scratches, and sunlight can cause fading over time. Fabric Upholstery:  ✅ Variety & Comfort: Fabric offers a wider range of colours, patterns, and textures, allowing for more customisation. It’s also generally softer and more comfortable to sit on. ✅ Breathability: Fabric tends to be more breathable, making it a good choice for warmer climates or cosy spaces. ✅ Affordability: Fabric options typically cost less than leather and offer excellent value for the price. ✅ Pet & Family-Friendly: Many fabric upholstery options come with stain-resistant treatments, and they tend to be more forgiving of rough use. ❌ Stains & Maintenance: Fabric can absorb spills and stains more easily, requiring more frequent cleaning and maintenance. ❌ Wear & Tear: Fabric may show signs of wear (pilling, fading) over time, especially in high-traffic areas. ❌ Allergens: Fabric can trap dust, allergens, and pet hair, which may cause an issue for allergy sufferers. In the end, whether you choose leather or fabric comes down to your specific needs. If you're looking for something durable and easy to maintain, leather may be the way to go. This week I have been feeling inspired by BoConcept Contracts Kent interior design trends for Winter / Spring 2025.   I am excited that, particularly with the cold weather, we are heading towards further cosiness and mindfulness while incorporating playfulness into our designs. Here are four trends that I feel most drawn to for 2025: Curved Minimalism  Think rounded corners, plump volumes, and curved frames. The soft forms are perfectly paired with cosy textured and colours to bring calmness into your space.   This feminine approach can transform your cold space into an inviting sanctuary to come home to and relax. 🧘♀️ Playfulism  A fusion of art and functionality. Incorporate statement pieces, uplifting and unexpected colours or patterns while including functional basics that make your day to day more practical.   A fun, creative outlook that brings joy into your home by not taking furniture and colours too seriously. 🎨 Conversational Cosy  This year is about comfort and togetherness, created with modular items to bring flexibility into your space. An inviting atmosphere is created with textile fabrics and soft lighting to get conversations flowing.   This trend mainly focuses around building a home that you and your closest don’t want to leave.  ☕ Biophilic Design  Purposefully incorporating nature inside to stay connected to the outdoors. The trend is known to release stress, lift your mood and your general wellbeing. This can be achieved with natural light, indoor plants and nature-inspired tones.
